Sidesaddle & Co. in Mountain Ranch

From Jul 22 2009 - 6:30pm to Jul 22 2009 - 8:00pm.

Sidesaddle & Co. to Ride into Mountain Ranch on July 22 for Free Concert Get out your cowboy hats, dancing boots and head to Mountain Ranch on July
22. That's when the free Music in the Parks concert of the Calaveras Arts Council will be presenting the winners of the Northern California Bluegrass
Society's 2008 "Bluegrass Band of the Year."

Sidesaddle & Co., based in San Jose California, has been satisfying audiences with their unique acoustic sound since 1979 when the band was
first established. The five members of the band come from an interesting variety of musical backgrounds, which come alive in their entertaining
repertoire of primarily traditional Bluegrass music, seasoned with vintage Country, Irish, Cajun and Cowboy Western. Sidesaddle's popularity has
extended further by including Gospel, Folk, Novelty and Comedy. Billboard Magazine has called their music "superbly melodic." Critics have hailed
their performances as "sophisticated and highly entertaining" and their harmonies "impeccable."

Band members are Lee Anne Welch on fiddle and vocals; Lisa Burns on bass and vocals; Rob Horgan on banjo and vocals; Glenn Dauphin, on guitar, vocals;
and Kim Elking on mandolin, vocals; who's also a DJ on KPIG Radio with her other name of Robbin Banks.

Sidesaddle's style is characterized by their soulful vocal harmonies and strong creative instrumental talents. The longevity of the band is proof
that Sidesaddle & Co. lends an air of contagious energy and professionalism to every performance. They have a knack for getting folks up and dancing. In
fact, their music has inspired dance production for New Dance San Jose and the Barbary Coast Cloggers. Headliners in their own right at many festivals
and bluegrass gatherings, the band has also had the pleasure of opening the show for such notables as Bill Monroe, Emmy Lou Harris. Willie Nelson, Billy
Dean, Ralph Stanley, New Grass Revival, John Hartford and Jim and Jesse to name a few.

The free concert starts at 6:30 pm in the Mountain Ranch Community Park,
which has lots of shade, picnic table, and a large dance area. The park is
located at the corner of Mountain Ranch Road and Whisky Slide Road, about 7
miles east of San Andreas. A green grass ballfield is adjacent for kids to
play on. Next week the concert series moves to Utica Park in Angels Camp and
will feature the charismatic master African drummer Onye Onyemaechi. For
