STILL fighting Prop. 8

Have you heard that Ken Starr -- and the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund -- filed legal briefs defending the constitutionality of Prop 8 and attempting to forcibly divorce 18,000 same-sex couples that were married in California last year? The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in this case on March 5, 2009, with a decision expected within the next 90 days.

Myth: we have to save the earth. Frankly, the earth doesn't need to be saved. Nature doesn't give a hoot if human beings are here or not. The planet has survived cataclysmic and catastrophic changes for millions upon millions of years. Over that time, it is widely believed, 99 percent of all species have come and gone while the planet has remained.

Rumor has it that there is a 10-year-old-ish brown van wandering around town, stopping at houses where it appears no one is home. When a local resident stopped and questioned the three people in the van, they claimed to represent a new Kirby Vaccuum store opening in Jackson, then left abruptly.
