Mokelumne Hill author Julia G. Costello, along with Edna Kimbro and Getty editor Tevvy Ball, was awarded the International Book Award "Best Non-Fiction Book of 2010" for the book titled The California Missions: History, Art, and Preservation. Congrats! More information on the book can be found on the Getty website.
We've made some improvements that I hope you'll like. The first thing you might notice is that some things have shifted around a bit on the right sidebar and the home page main channel. Also, we've combined the links you'll need for doing stuff on the site into one menu called "User menu" and it's right under the calendar on the right sidebar. (Note: you won't see it unless you're logged in.)
We've also changed how the home page handles various posts. Now there is a main "News" channel on the right (to display things that have been checked "Promote to front page"), as well as a few more specialized blocks that are new on the left side. We're now separating Personal Notices (obituaries, births, weddings, etc) from Blog posts (Opinion) and Recent Posts (new stuff that wasn't tagged to the front page). If you have any questions please contact Sloane.
Join the Moke Hill Lions on June 5 for their beginning of summer yard sale. It will be held in Wendell's parking lot on Highway 49 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you've been doing spring cleaning and have stuff you would like to donate, just call one of the numbers below for pick-up. If you'd rather sell it yourself, booth spaces are available for $20/space. Otherwise, just come out and shop!
